I exhibited at my first wedding show last month, at Queen's Wharf - what a whirlwind! Five minutes before opening time they announced over the PA that there were long queues outside: the next five hours were madness. I was so glad I brought along my beautiful assistant Merel Rip, otherwise there'd have been no opportunity to get coffees, and then where would I have been?? There were no fewer than 19 photographer stands, so lots of us vying for the brides and grooms' attention, but I've been really pleased with the response. Thanks to all the lovely couples who stopped by for a chat! Our stand looked great: we had three big PVC banners printed by Andy and his talented team at ImageLab in Wigan Street, a slideshow ticking over on a 24" iMac, and of course beautiful albums and coffee table books on display, which generated a gratifying number of ooohs and aahhs. It was an exhausting day, especially coming hard on the heels of a nine and a half hour wedding the day before (had to have a rather large G&T when I got home), but totally worth it.
Many thanks to Simon Elwell from Inspire Photography for providing the top photo. I'm on the left, Merel's on the right.
