Alice and Ryan's Wairarapa wedding

I knew right from when I first met Alice and Ryan in April last year that this would be a really fun wedding to photograph! It was lovely to see Alice's building excitement as the wedding approached. On the day she was relaxed and full of humour - it makes a wedding photographer's job easy when a couple has such a great energy about them. undefinedundefined Alice and her bridesmaids got ready at Terracotta Lodge in Carterton, just around the corner from where the ceremony was to be held, the beautiful St Mark's Anglican Church on the main road.

After the ceremony the guests moved into the hall at the back of the church for champagne and wedding cake.

This one makes me smile...

Just before 6pm we headed to the park in Greytown where Ryan proposed. Clever man, choosing such a fantastic spot! Alice was laughing at me for getting so excited about this avenue of trees and the gorgeous light. We didn't have very long before we had to get back to the reception, and we had to do a mad sprint across the huge playing field to get to the exact proposal spot, but the time of day was absolutely perfect: just before the sun went down.undefinedundefinedundefinedundefined

The newlyweds' arrival at the reception at Greytown's Turkey Red hotel was quite something: they came in to "War Machine" by AC/DC!

Congratulations again Alice and Ryan! Angela and I really enjoyed photographing your wedding day. Have a wonderful honeymoon in Australia and I look forward to showing you the rest of your photos when you get back.
