Brigette and Mike were married in the gorgeous wee St Andrews Church in Martinborough earlier this month, and held their wedding reception at Murdoch James Vineyard Estate. It was a pretty powerful thing to watch Brigette walk herself down the aisle. Her father passed away when she was young, and she didn't feel he could be replaced. It was a moving tribute and a really lovely ceremony all round, punctuated by Vicar May Croft dropping the rings in what she swears was a first! Afterwards we took some bridal party photos at another Wairarapa church (in the middle of a paddock!) and at a local woolshed, then ventured into the depths of the Murdoch James barrel room for something a bit different.
The reception kicked off with a game of "Who Am I?", where Mike's uncle Jonathan gave three clues and everyone had to guess which guest was being referred to. It was hilarious and there were varying levels of mortification as deep dark secrets came to light. After the first dance (a foxtrot, no less) the guests hit the dance floor - there were some pretty impressive moves going down...
Thank you Brigette and Mike for a wonderful day - I wish you every happiness for the years ahead. Thanks also to Camus Wyatt for joining me.
