Despina and Zack couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day for their wedding at Old St Paul's last weekend. Sunny but not too hot, a light breeze - one of those life-affirming days that just makes everyone feel good. Despina's wedding bouquet was a mix of white peonies and roses - I loved it.
Just before we left for the church Despina's family performed the Greek wedding rituals of passing a red sash around the bride's waist three times, and the gabnistiri blessing, to pave the way for a blessed marriage. Despina is Greek (obviously!) and Zack is Jordanian.
My assistant Mark Berger was at Despina and Zack's house, meanwhile, and took the photos above.
Despina's Uncle Peter walked her down the aisle.

Despina's cousin manages the Embassy Theatre, a fantastic venue for taking wedding photos! I could have spent all afternoon there. :) After I finally dragged myself away we went on Lyall Bay, to the spot where Zack proposed, and then to the Massey Museum in Buckle St.
The reception was held at the Bolton Hotel. The top table had a wall of fairy lights behind it, which always creates lovely bokeh for the photos!Guest photos above by Mark.
Despina and Zack, it's been a real pleasure getting to know you. The love you two share is obvious for anyone to see and I know you've got a long and happy future together ahead of you. xx
