Joanna and Esko's Penguin book-themed wedding

This is one I haven't seen before and I love it - the strong, clean design of a Penguin book used as the basis for an entire range of wedding stationery. Literature lovers Joanna and Esko carried it right through from the 'book' invitations (reviews on the back included: "So gripping you won't be able to sleep until you know the ending") to the clever table names. I couldn't decide if my favourite was "Far from the Madding Crowd" or "Where the Wild Things Are". And then each guest received a book as a wedding favour - wow! All the stationery was designed by Joanna and Esko's friend Fiona Elliott. The ceremony was held at the tiny St Patrick's church in Makara and was officiated by Esko's old school friend Julie Rokotakala. Guests were then bussed to Ohariu Farm for the reception, where the bar was decked out with postcards of beautifully designed book covers. The penguin-topped wedding cake had to budge over a bit though to allow room for a second cake to reflect another love of Esko's. :)

Thank you to the talented Douglas Voon for joining me!
