I hadn't shot a wedding at chef Ruth Pretty's lovely Te Horo property Springfield before, so I was already pretty excited about that, and then I turned up at the bach where Katie was getting ready to find it was a Fritz Eisenhofer creation, with curved ceilings, patterned skylights and a plant-lined indoor pool just inside the front door! It was going to be a good day. :) I had a fantastic time photographing the amazing wedding bouquets, and Mr Eisenhofer had even put a little railing across the hallway for me to hang Katie's beautiful dress on - awfully considerate. Katie and Charlie just sneaked their wedding in before daylight saving ended, so the trees that they were married beneath were starting to turn and looked lovely in their autumn colours. The weather hadn't been brilliant in the run-up to the wedding but it came right, which I was very happy about as the gardens at Springfield offer so many great spots for photographs.
Katie is quite a shy person who wasn't particularly looking forward to being in front of a camera (read: dreading) but she did so well and I felt right proud of her. Katie and Charlie, thank you for an awesome day, and I wish you all the best for a long and happy life together. x
Thank you Michelle Davies for joining me!
