Mission impossible?

One of Anna's first emails warned me that her six-year-old son James was often very grumpy, hated the camera and was "a mission to photograph", so I was braced for a really tough shoot. Granted, at the start he did insist on sitting in a small chair well away from the camera and lights, and when he was lured into the right spot he sat facing the background with his arms resolutely folded in front of him. I got a lovely photo of the back of his head and Anna giving the camera a wry smile. I think she was fearing she was going to get absolutely nothing out of the shoot, but it wasn't long before James warmed up, into a fiery dragon no less. Quite a ticklish one.
