Rachael and Brooke's mum and dad won a free photo shoot that I'd donated to a fundraiser for our local school. I put my foot in it massively when I first arrived because I'd written down the girls' ages as 5 and 7, when they were 7 and 9 - it's a world of difference to a kid and my faux pas earned me some very withering looks! Fortunately I was able to claw my way back out of that hole and we had a brilliant time. We turned up the music in their bedroom and they had a blast leaping off the beds (which they're not normally allowed to do) and wrapping themselves up in the net curtains. I suggested they might like to style a photo themselves, so it was out with the bear suits, feather masks, swords and Bob the Builder backpacks: quite an ensemble. It was so much fun and I have to say that as much as I love my studio it's great to be able to mix it up a bit and photograph families at home too!
